How this index is built

This index compares what hair-loss telehealth providers charge and what their terms say. It does not judge which treatment is right for anyone.

Where the numbers come from

Every price starts as a figure read from the provider's own pricing or product page. Where a provider hides prices until after a questionnaire, the figure comes from the most recent 2026 review that states it, and the row is marked as such. Each price carries one of four statuses:

  • Checked at checkout — confirmed on the provider's own checkout page on the date shown.
  • Published price, checkout check pending — read from the provider's page or a 2026 review; not yet confirmed at checkout.
  • Sources disagree — two or more sources give different figures. The lowest is shown and the disagreement is noted in the plan column.
  • Not published — the provider offers the treatment but publishes no price.

How providers are ordered

The ledger is sorted by oral finasteride price, lowest first, because it is the treatment most people compare on. Providers without a finasteride price follow, alphabetically. "Cheapest" tags go to the lowest published subscription price for each format. Consult-only services show pharmacy prices, which are not comparable, so they are never tagged cheapest. Nothing about this order changes because of money.

What the monthly check does

Once a month a script opens every source page, looks for the price on file, and records whether it is still there. A price that has disappeared or changed is flagged for a manual re-check and logged in the changelog. A failed fetch is logged as a failure, never quietly kept as a current price.

What affiliate links change

Some providers pay a commission when a reader signs up through a tracked link. That money keeps the index running. It changes exactly one thing: when two providers are equally good for a reader, a partner's button may be shown first. It never changes a price, a status, a "watch out" note, or the order of the ledger. Providers with no affiliate relationship are listed and tagged cheapest on the same terms as everyone else, and the ledger's cheapest finasteride subscription on launch day was not a partner.

What this index is not

It is not medical advice, not a test of product quality, and not a claim that any treatment works for you. Nobody here has taken the products in order to review them; the value of the index is the price and the terms, checked and dated.

Every page names its sources. If a number is wrong, email the address in the footer with the page and the correct figure and it will be re-checked within a week.
